More people watch MoaTV on a Fire TV Stick than on anything else. It's inexpensive, it plugs into any HDMI port, and the first install takes about five minutes. Have your MoaTV login handy; it comes on WhatsApp once you've ordered.

Step 1: Get Downloader
On the home screen, open Find, then Search, and type Downloader. Install the orange app made by AFTVnews. It's free.
Step 2: Let Downloader install apps
Open Settings and head into My Fire TV, then Developer Options. Switch on Install unknown apps for Downloader. Can't see Developer Options? Go to Settings, My Fire TV, About, and click the device name seven times until a message says you're a developer.
Step 3: Install the player
Open Downloader and enter the Downloader code we send you on WhatsApp with your login. When the file finishes, choose Install, then Done. Let Downloader delete the installer afterwards; you'll want the space.
Step 4: Sign in to MoaTV
Open the player and choose the Xtream Codes sign-in. Fill in the username, password and server address from your WhatsApp message, exactly as written; capitals count.
The first load takes a minute or so while the channels and library come in. After that it opens straight to the home screen.
Four settings worth changing
- Time zone (Settings, Preferences, Time Zone), so the guide shows the right times.
- Favourites: star the ten channels you actually watch.
- Picture: choose HD over 4K if your Wi-Fi is patchy.
- Data Monitoring: turn it off in Fire TV settings, since it can quietly slow streams.
Fixing the usual problems
